Dr. Bentley received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Wagner College in Staten Island, New York, and a Master of Science in Environmental Biology from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. She received a Master of Public Health degree from Nova Southeastern University (NSU) in Miami, Florida and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from NSU’s College of Osteopathic Medicine.

 

Since 1995 Dr. Bentley has continued to expand her teaching skills through continued professional development in both academics and medicine.   She has experience teaching and directing many courses involving Clinical, Procedural, Community and Global Medicine and continues to practice part time in the urgent care setting.   Currently, Dr. Bentley chairs the Department of Honor’s Tracks and Special Programs, is Director of the Honor’s Global Medicine program and is a Full Professor in the Primary Care Department at Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Parker, Colorado. Along with her on campus teaching responsibilities, she provides international opportunities for student clinical training and work.   

 

Since 2000, Dr. Bentley has traveled extensively internationally over the years, providing healthcare to thousands of people living in Central and South America, Nepal, Africa and China. In fact, in March of 2016 she completed her 50th global medical outreach to a developing country.

 

 

 

Dr. Bentley is also the President of Hands for Health, NFP a new foundation which is dedicated to providing health care access and medical supplies

 

to people living in the developing world, who are much less fortunate than us.  When she is not working she enjoys gardening, hiking, singing and relaxing at home.
