Joan Evelyn Kinlan, MD, FAACAP, is a well-versed child, adolescent, adult, and forensic psychiatrist with a private practice located in Washington, DC. She has served as forensic psychiatrist for DC Government for over two decades and embraced forensic psychiatry in her private practice as well. She has been practicing child and adolescent psychiatry since 1974 and has been engaged in medical school teaching since 1973. Dr. Kinlan was awarded her medical degree at SUNY Downstate Medical School in 1969 and then completed her residency at Strong memorial Hospital and her fellowship at George Washington University Hospital. She did her undergraduate degree at Mount St. Vincent in 1965. Dr. Kinlan received board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and maintains a membership with the American Medical Association. Additionally, she has been a fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry since 1990.
