Renowned Surgeon Brings Skill and Expertise to New York City Practice

Dr. Valery Dronsky, MD, FACS, renowned for his dexterity and skill in general and robotic surgery, is a founding partner at Lenox Hill Surgeons, LLP in the bustling metropolis of New York, New York. With a specialization in minimally invasive, laparoscopic, and robotic general surgery, he is dedicated to offering top-tier surgical services that incorporate the latest advancements in the field.

A practitioner of medicine with a deep commitment to ethical conduct, compassion, and exceptional patient care, Dr. Dronsky is known for his superb bedside manner and his utilization of cutting-edge procedures to ensure the best possible outcomes for his patients. His finesse in the operating room, characterized by precise mechanical skills, sharp analytical abilities, and a talent for visualizing tissue in three dimensions, sets him apart as a leader in his field.

Dr. Dronsky’s journey to becoming a highly respected surgeon began with his graduation from the prestigious Russian State Medical University in Moscow in 1988. Following this, he honed his skills as a faculty member at the same institution before pursuing further opportunities in the United States. His tenure at UCSF California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco provided him with invaluable experience in clinical research, which he later complemented with rigorous surgical training at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City and SUNY Downstate Medical Health Science Center in Brooklyn.

Furthering his training, Dr. Dronsky completed a fellowship in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery at Lutheran Medical Center and then served as a dedicated surgical attending and clinical assistant professor, focusing on general, minimally invasive, and trauma surgery.

In 2009, Dr. Dronsky became an integral part of Surgical Associates of New York, LLP, later restructured as General and Laparoscopic Surgeons of New York, LLP in 2012. Today, he collaborates with esteemed colleagues Drs. Sergei Dolgopolov and Roman Grinberg at Lenox Hill Surgeons, LLP, collectively providing exceptional surgical care to their patients.

“I have a great passion for my profession. I feel that it is an honor and a privilege to take care of patients, and to have them entrust me with their health. Sometimes, in fact, my friends and family reveal to me that they think I care too much about my patients and their outcomes. They see that I spend days and nights at the hospital caring for people. I do not think that a physician, especially a surgeon, can care too much. Every decision I make, every recommendation I give, and every operation I do, has incredible importance. I have always felt this way, and I always plan to practice medicine in this fashion” expressed Dr. Dronsky.

In addition to being a distinguished Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a proud member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, he is board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS serves patients, society, and the specialty of surgery by providing leadership in surgical education and practice.

Acknowledging the importance of hard work and the unwavering support of his peers, Dr. Dronsky’s dedication to excellence has earned him accolades such as the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Medical Student Teaching. His relentless pursuit of surgical excellence continues to benefit patients under his care and the medical community at large.
