Gabriela Hundorfean received her Doctor of Medicine degree in 1987 from the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania. After moving to the United States, she completed a fellowship in Anxiety and Depression at the Montefiore Medical Center in New York. Dr. Hundorfean is board-certified by, and a Diplomate of, the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is also a member of the American Psychiatric Association. Dr. Hundorfean is a highly-trained and qualified psychiatrist who has been practicing for more than 26 years and is currently serving patients at her own practice in Bronx, New York. Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behaviour, cognition, and perceptions. As a physiatrist, Dr. Hundorfean employs therapy to gain insight into a patient's past and then uses proper coping methods to help the patient address their own problems. She is renowned as an expert in addiction, trauma, and human sexuality, and attributes her success to following her childhood dream and helping others to follow their dreams. In her spare time, Dr. Hundorfean enjoys dancing, traveling and learning about new cultures and practices, including shamanism.
