An experienced orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Huff is the Medical Director of Huff Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. Recognizing the value of a close-knit community, he settled on Sampson County in Clinton, North Carolina as the location for his practice.
Huff Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine provides general orthopaedic and sports medicine care for the entire family. Whether a patient believes that they have carpal tunnel syndrome or a child injured his or her knee while playing soccer and is in need of a knee surgeon, the providers have the knowledge and expertise to get the family on the path to pain relief and recovery.
Raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, Dr. Huff attended medical school at East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine, graduating with highest honors. He completed his internship and a five-year orthopaedic surgical residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Florida. He then completed an additional fellowship year of training in arthroscopy and joint replacement at The Florida Knee Center in Clearwater, and opened his practice in Clinton in June of 1998.
Ultimately, Dr. Huff wanted to be in an environment where he had an opportunity to genuinely get to know his patients and become a member of the community. Because he is dedicated to the town of Clinton and Sampson County, he actively contributes to civic and community events, offers special clinics, partners with area businesses, but most importantly, provides preeminent orthopaedic care typically found in larger cities. He works closely with the local high school and junior high coaches and trainers to be sure to get injured athletes seen as soon as possible. He also operates daily at Sampson Regional Medical Center, having completed over 12,000 surgeries to date.
One of less than 2,000 surgeons in the United States to hold both certifications in orthopaedic surgery and orthopaedic sports medicine, Dr. Huff is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons.
Orthopaedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopaedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.
On a more personal note, Dr. Huff is married and has three children.
