To begin her career, she earned her medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City and completed research fellowships in neuroscience, immunology and pediatric surgery. Wanting to further her knowledge in the field, she completed her residency in 2001 at The George Washington University Hospital. Dr. Lee's research has been presented in conferences nationwide. Her recent speaking engagements included a monthly conference of pediatric surgery at Holy Cross Hospital, a meeting of the Society for Pediatric Research, an American Association of Immunologists meeting and a Clinical Immunology Society meeting. Dr. Lee's work has been published in a number of publications including the Journal of the American College of Surgeons, the New England Journal of Medicine and the Journal of Immunology Medicine. Furthermore, Dr. Lee has been the recipient of numerous awards over the course of her career and most recently was named "Surgical Resident of the Year" by the Attending Physician's Association. She was awarded a certificate of appreciation by the government of the District of Columbia for her work with GW's Emergency Response team and gained third place in a competition of the Washington Academy of Surgery and the American College of Surgeons. On a more personal note, she attributes her success to having a patient-centered practice, the support of her colleagues, as well as staying up to date with the current state of surgical care, knowledge and technology.
