A board-certified hematologist-oncologist, Dr. Kafeel has two decades of experience in providing individualized, compassionate cancer care to patients in New York. He tends to patients at Vantage Medical Group in Flushing, and can also be found on staff at Mount Sinai Hospital and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

Back in the early days of his academic career, he earned his medical degree from the Santiago University of Technology School of Medicine in the Dominican Republic in 1998. After relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine at the Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center in 2008, and his fellowship in hospice & palliative medicine at the SUNY Upstate Medical University Hospital in 2011. Later, he returned to the Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center and completed an additional fellowship in hematology & medical oncology in 2014.

In pursuit of clinical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in hematology, medical oncology, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
