Kalyan Veerina, MD, FACC, is a remarkable cardiologist at The Cardiovascular Institute of the South in Opelousas, Louisiana. Dr. Veerina graduated from Nagarjuna University, Guntur Institute of Medical Sciences/Guntur Medical College, A.P. India, in 1990. He completed his residency program in Internal Medicine at St. Francis Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in July, 1997. Dr. Veerina continued his fellowship program in a fourth year and Peripheral Interventional Cardiology training program at Cardiovascular Institute of the South in Houma, Louisiana. His training was completed in 2001 and he began practicing Cardiology in Shreveport, Louisiana in 2002. His practice includes both invasive and noninvasive cardiology. His expertise is in Interventional Peripheral Cardiology but is also experienced and licensed in Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Veerina is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease and a Fellow in the American College of Cardiology. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Heart Association, and the American College of Cardiology.
