Get to know Pain Management Specialist Dr. Jeff Lee Buchalter, who serves patients in Pensacola, Florida.

Dr. Buchalter is a pain management specialist who is currently serving patients at Clearway Pain Solutions Institute in Pensacola, Florida. The mission of Clearway Pain Solutions Institute is to be recognized as the leading integrative pain management organization in the U.S., redefining the sector into a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary system of pain solutions dedicated to relieving pain, restoring function, and renewing quality of life. Dr. Buchalter received his medical degree from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida in 1987. He then went on to complete his internship and his residency in Anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Buchalter also completed his fellowship subspecialty training in pain medicine at the University of Texas and MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas in 1991.

Dr. Buchalter is an Associate Clinical Professor on active staff at the Florida State University College of Medicine in Tallahassee, Florida, and an Associate Professor at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine.

Dr. Buchalter is board-certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology. The ABA is one of the 24 medical specialty boards that constitutes the American Board of Medical Specialties. The mission of the ABA is to advance the highest standards of the practice of Anesthesiology.

Dr. Buchalter is a Certified Independent Medical Examiner with the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners, a Fellow of the International Academy of Independent Medical Examiners, as well as a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners.

Dr. Buchalter remains at the forefront of his challenging specialty via memberships and affiliations with prestigious professional societies and associations, such as the Florida Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Academy of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the American Academy of Pain Medicine.

Over the years, Dr. Buchalter was honored as Top Physician in America by the American Registry of Outstanding Professionals (2014) and received multiple Patients’ Choice Awards (2008-2016), Compassionate Doctor Recognitions (2009-2016), Patients’ Choice 5th Anniversary Awards (2012-2016), and Compassionate Doctor Awards – 5 Year Honoree (2013-2016).

Pain medicine is a medical specialty that focuses on the evaluation, treatment, and prevention of pain. A pain management specialist, also known as a pain doctor or a pain specialist, is a medical doctor (M.D.) or doctor of osteopathy (D.O.) who specializes in pain medicine. They specialize in the management of pain as a symptom of disease (eudynia) and primary pain disorders (maldynia). Furthermore, they treat patients who experience pain related to a specific cause (e.g., cancer pain, injury, postoperative pain) and patients who suffer pain as a primary condition (e.g., frequent headaches, neuropathic pain).

Dr. Buchalter’s areas of expertise cover the diagnosis and treatment of spine-related pain disorders and complex regional pain syndromes. He can perform precise spine procedures to diagnose and treat the source of the patients pain.He has expertise in all minor and major Spine related Pain procedures. In addition to the book he co-authored on  the Diagnosis and Treatment of Intervertebral Disc Pain, he has expanded his treatment protocols to include Stem Cell and other Regenerative Therapies.

In his spare time, Dr. Buchalter enjoys working out, boating and spending time with his wife, children and pets.
