Dr. Ellen Braunstein has been in practice for almost three decades and is currently serving patients within her own private practice located in Woodmere, New York. She is also affiliated with North Shore University Hospital and South Nassau Communities Hospital. Dr. Braunstein’s medical career began in 1983, when she graduated from The Chicago Medical School. Upon receiving her Medical Degree, she completed an internship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and a residency at Cornell University, where she achieved Chief Resident status. Dr. Braunstein is board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is nationally renowned as an expert in Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer’s Disease, and Migraine Headache Syndromes. Dr. Braunstein is also highly regarded for her work with neuromuscular and spinal cord diseases. She is a distinguished member of many professional organizations including the American Medical Association and the New York State Medical Society where she serves as a member of the Task Force on the Survival of Independent Practice. She is a past president of the Nassau County Medical Society and remains an Executive Board Member. Presently Dr. Braunstein is honored to serve as the Chair of the Nassau County Board of Health. She has received citations from the Office of the County Executive, acknowledging her significant contributions to Nassau County. The CDC has recognized Dr. Braunstein for her work in Emerging Infections Programs Surveillance. Since 2009, she has been included in the field of Neurology as one of the “America’s Top Physicians” award.
