Get to know Pediatrician Dr. Joan M. Villaflor, who serves patients in Sacramento, California.

Dr. Villaflor is a compassionate and trusted pediatrician who delivers quality pediatric care to infants, children, and adolescents at Sacramento Valley Pediatric Medical Group in California. She and her colleagues at the practice strive to treat each and every patient as they would want their own children to be treated.

“The tenderness of children has always touched my heart and my care grew, even more, when I gave birth to my daughter in 2011. It is my silent promise to give my all in ensuring that the little ones are properly treated and cared for in my field of specialization. No child deserves to be in pain and no one should stay sick. I want them to achieve their best potential. My role is to be an advocate for them. We at Sacramento Valley Pediatrics make sure that we properly attend to our patients and extend the best care to make each one feel at home while being treated” as stated by the doctor. 

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Villaflor graduated with flying colors from De La Salle University in the Philippines. She became equipped with good training and valuable experiences during her residency at Medical Center Manila in the Philippines and at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

In addition to being a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), she is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics, which is primarily accountable to children, from infants to young adults, and their families as it guides professional self-regulation and certifies pediatricians. 

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends people be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. As a pediatrician, Dr. Villaflor provides medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. She is trained to examine, diagnose, and treat children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses through all their developmental stages, as they grow and mature.
