Dr. Speert holds a BS in Biology from The College of New Jersey where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He received his medical degree from Rowan University (formerly known as the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey) as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
Before Joining OrthoNY, Dr. Speert engaged in a one-year internship in general medicine at Christ Hospital, part of UMDNJ-SOM. He then spent three years in residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School / Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation. He further specialized in Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine after completing a fellowship at OSS Health in York, Pennsylvania.
During his time at OSS Health, Dr. Speert was fellowship trained in cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and sacral epidurals and neurotomies; sacroiliac joint injections; discograms; kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty; sympathetic ganglion blocks; spinal cord stimulator trials; percutaneous implantations; intercostal nerve blocks; ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve, tendon and joint injections; percutaneous tenotomies; and use of platelet rich plasma.
Dr. Speert has special interests and skills in offering a multimodal approach to pain management and sports and spine injuries using evidenced-based treatments. He is seeing patients in Saratoga Springs, Malta and Clifton Park.
