  • Why am I having chest pains?

There are many causes of chest pain. It’s best to get an ekg and workup by a cardiologist. READ MORE

  • Platelets

Hard to say without the full panel. Sometimes it as simple as the level of hydration you had at the time of the test. Run the full panel by your doctor for a better understanding. READ MORE

  • The right side of my chest is hurting

Chest pain is always concerning. I’d recommend evaluation with an ekg at minimum READ MORE

  • cardiac work up

That’s great news as it means you have no significant blockages in your blood vessels of the heart READ MORE

  • What is pleural effusion? And how it is related to my case?

Without more information just based on your history of MI I’d be concerned for heart failure and recurrent or worsened coronary artery disease. You need a full cardiac workup including labs, ekg, echocardiogram and some form of ischemic evaluation Will likely also require diuretics to remove the fluid from your lungs Best of luck and wishing you good health READ MORE

  • lisinopril if you have low blood pressure?

Hard to say without knowing the indication but if just given for high blood pressure and her blood pressure is now running very low is call your doctor and see if they can lower/ remove it if possible. Especially if she is symptomatic (lightheaded, dizzy, etc) READ MORE

  • Blood pressure

I’d worry about your low blood pressure if you’re dizzy. You need to be checked for bleeding and have an ekg to make sure that you’re not in a rapid afib and asymptomatic. The swelling is also concerning for exacerbation of your heart failure. All needs to be checked. Either see your doctor or go to ER READ MORE

  • Pain in chest

Hi. We call this “pleuritic” chest pain. There can be many causes, including muscular pain. If it happened once and lasted only a few seconds, likely no cause for concern. If it continues to happen I would recommend seeing a doctor. READ MORE

  • Losing circulation, ekg normal,.

Sorry, you are experiencing this. Sounds scary. I would recommend a cardiac eval (hard to do here without a proper exam) for further workup. Would also consider a rheumatology workup for possible raynauds which can cause color change ( would see a clear line of demarcation when cold)…can Google pics to see if that’s what you are experiencing. Good luck! READ MORE

  • Pleural effusion

I can understand how scary this must be! There are many causes of pleural effusions Typically if related to the heart it would be bilateral (in both lungs) If oj one side and in the setting of recent infection, it may be related to that and typically will resolved on its own I’d follow up with your doctor so they can follow you for symptom management and determine if any further workup is needed READ MORE

  • Hard spasm/beat on my chest followed by a skipped beat?

Sounds like you are experiencing palpitations which can be concerning when felt From your description I would guess extra beats either from the top or bottom of your heart I’d recommend seeing a cardiologist for an ekg and Holter monitor do they can further evaluate the cause I’d also try stopping magnesium and see if your symptoms resolve. READ MORE

  • Question for Cardiologist

Tough to say. I’d recommend getting all of your records pertaining to your ventricular tachycardia, notes from your previous cardiologist, any imaging (echo, ekg, stress test, cardiac cath) and if any other hospitalizations and bring with you to a consult so they have enough information to make a decision READ MORE

  • heart related issue maybe

Symptoms more suggest a respiratory infection The chest pinching can be related to cough Would see your doctor and get a full workup including chest X-ray and testing for various infections (COVID, flu, rsv) READ MORE

  • Echo

Typically a bicuspid aortic valve in a younger person will lead to aortic regurgitation (leakiness of the aortic valve) which can be categorized by severity (mild, moderate or severe). Sometimes an echo can miss things depending on the technician and the angles obtained (remember it’s a 2D image of a 3D structure). I’d consult with your cardiologist and review the images with them and discuss next steps. READ MORE

  • Concerned about Blood Pressure, but confused about advice

Hi. So your doctor was right, this is not yet considered high blood pressure (140/90 or higher). It is also very common for a persons blood pressure reading to be highest when they come to the doctor (we call this “white coat hypertension”). Home measurement is helpful to get a sense of what your pressure is under less stressful situations. When checking, first empty your bladder. Sit relaxed, feet flat on the ground. Arm on the table and check You can always bring your readings and your cuff with you on your next visit to review with your doctor. READ MORE

  • Can I drink caffeine?

Hi. So palpitations are your sense of your heart beating fast or irregular The Holter monitor serves to verify whether your symptoms correspond with an abnormal heart rhythm Per the monitor you had nothing significant However if you had no symptoms while the monitor it may have been something, possibly related to caffeine if the symptoms resolved with cessation of caffeine You should based on this be ae to resume caffeine but speak to your doctor and listen to your body. If they give you the go ahead and symptoms return then there is a correlation. READ MORE
