A Houston native, Dr. Sana went to Texas A&M University for his undergraduate studies. After graduation, he worked on the Human Genome Project. He then went to Des Moines, Iowa for medical school, graduating with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Des Moines College of Osteopathic Medicine. After returning to Texas, he completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in gastroenterology with distinction in advanced interventional endoscopy at Baylor Scott White Hospital.

With years of experience in his field, the doctor is board-certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM). The AOBIM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults.
