He graduated from medical school with Alpha Omega Alpha honors and moved on to perform his neurological surgery training at Temple Hospital in Philadelphia.

Dr. Meagher’s training included award-winning research into the mechanisms of recovery from traumatic brain injury. His clinical research has been published in many peer-reviewed journals, and he has contributed to textbook chapters and presented research at numerous international meetings. As a member of the North American Spine Society Evidence-Based Guideline Development Committee, he currently helps to develop guidelines for spinal disease treatment.

Dr. Meagher has become a world expert in minimally invasive surgical spine techniques. He has traveled extensively to perform surgery for patients in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida, Ohio, and Missouri. Dr. Meagher is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. 

Dr. Meagher is board certified in neurological surgery by the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS). The mission of the ABNS is to improve public health care by developing and executing a sequence of certification activities to improve and maintain the educational and professional standards of neurological surgery. The broad aim of the ABNS is to encourage the study, improve the practice, elevate the standards, and advance the science of neurological surgery, thereby serving the cause of public health.

Neurosurgery is the medical specialty that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, surgical treatment, and rehabilitation of disorders affecting any portion of the nervous system, including the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and extra-cranial cerebrovascular system. Neurosurgeons specialize in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of disorders of the central and peripheral nervous system, including congenital anomalies, vascular disorders, tumors, stroke, infections of the brain or spine, trauma, or degenerative diseases of the spine. They use neuroradiology imaging like MRI, CT, PET, and MEG to diagnose / treat neurological problems.
