Get to know Speech Pathologists Bailey Wren Scruggs, who serves the population of Corsicana, Texas.

Bailey Wren Scruggs, CCC-SLP is a Speech Pathologists currently practicing with Heritage Oaks West Retirement Village.

Heritage Oaks West Retirement Village provides Nursing Homes, a type of senior housing that typically offers a wide range of healthcare services, including the services of on-site doctors and other medical professionals, as well as traditional senior housing services like meal service, personal assistive care, housekeeping and more.

Currently participates in adult-geriatric care through independently planned treatments, collaboration with physical and occupational therapy, conversing with nurses and doctors throughout care, and documenting progress to aid in habilitative care or preparing patient for returning home.

Bailey graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Baylor University in 2016. Furthering her education she graduated with a Master of Science in Communication Sciences & Disorders – Speech Pathology in 2017. She holds certification as a Speech-Language Pathology.

To stay up to date in her field, Bailey remains a professional member of the American Speech Language Hearing Association and the Texas Speech Language Hearing Association.

The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is the national professional, scientific, and credentialing association for 204,000 members and affiliates who are audiologists; speech-language pathologists; speech, language, and hearing scientists; audiology and speech-language pathology support personnel; and students.

Bailey attributes her professional success her to her friend’s little sister, born with hearing difficulty and she saw how the speech-language pathologist worked with them and made a difference in their lives. She became inspired to learn more and go into this field. Her supervisors and VP Lori Walters and all her coworkers have been a huge help and encouraging her.

When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and golden retriever, hunting, traveling globally.
