Get to know Dr. Sayee Kiran, MD, who serves patients in Detroit, Michigan 

Dr. Kiran is a surgical oncologist serving Detroit and the surrounding communities. She is affiliated with Beaumont Hospital – a not-for-profit organization formed by Beaumont Health System, Botsford Hospital and Oakwood Health System to provide patients with the benefit of greater access to the highest quality, compassionate care, no matter where they live in southeast Michigan. 

Dr. Kiran earned her Medical Degree (MD) at the Wayne State University School of Medicine in 2011. After that, she went on to do a residency in general surgery at Providence Park Hospital in 2016, and then a fellowship in breast surgery at the University of Southern California University Hospital in 2017. 

Dr. Kiran is Board-Certified by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, nonprofit organization founded in 1937 to provide board certification to individuals who have met a defined standard of education, training and knowledge in the field of surgery. 

Surgical oncology is a cancer care field that focuses on using surgery to diagnose, stage and treat cancer. Surgical oncologists may also perform palliative surgeries to help control pain, increase a patient’s comfort level and manage cancer-related symptoms and side effects. As a surgical oncologist, Dr. Kiran specializes in breast cancer and decides if the patient is a candidate for surgery or other cancer treatments based on certain factors such as age, physical fitness and other possible coexisting medical conditions 

With 8 years in practice, Dr Kiran has cared for hundreds of patients.
