A devoted dentist, Dr. Blankenship established Dental Renaissance in Plano, Texas in 2019. She has never grown tired of helping people bring out the best that their smiles have to offer.

After earning degrees in biology and philosophy at Hunter College, she was drawn to the field of dentistry because of its unique combination of art, science, and biology. Dr. Blakenship graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

Thereafter, she served her General Practice Residency at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Hospital with an emphasis on oral surgery and periodontics. She also served rotations at the MD Anderson Cancer Center and gained experience in meeting the needs of medically compromised patients.

Having shown a commitment to expanding her knowledge base, Dr. Blakenship pursues continuing education on a regular basis, especially in the areas of implant dentistry, oral surgery, and cosmetic dentistry. She has also studied with Nobel Biocare and the prestigious Pikos Institute.

Her dedication to learning translates into a higher standard of care for her patients, as she is always seeking out new techniques and approaches to provide the best possible outcomes.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat problems with patients’ teeth, gums, and related parts of the mouth. They provide advice and instruction on taking care of the teeth and gums and on diet choices that affect oral health.

When she is not enhancing smiles, Dr. Blankenship makes quality time with her husband and family a priority. That family includes a Corgi named Ellie and a Chihuahua named Biscuits, both of whom she loves very much.

An adventurous culinary explorer, she never passes up the opportunity to try new restaurants, cuisines, and recipes. She is also an avid reader and has a particular interest in true crime stories.
