Dr. Ricketti, a board-certified and fellowship-trained allergist and immunologist, serves patients at Mercer Allergy & Pulmonary Associates in Hamilton Township, New Jersey.

The combined experience and advanced training in allergy, immunology, pulmonary/critical care medicine, sleep medicine, and contact dermatitis of Dr. Anthony Ricketti, MD & Dr. Peter Anthony Ricketti, DO, at Mercer Allergy & Pulmonary Associates allows them to provide comprehensive care to patients with seasonal, environmental or food allergies, hives (urticaria), disorders of the immune system, lung diseases such as asthma, COPD (emphysema/chronic bronchitis), lung cancer, sarcoidosis, interstitial lung disease, various sleep disorders, and contact dermatitis due to allergens in the home (personal/laundry care products, jewelry, food additives) and/or work environment.

After earning his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the ​Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Ricketti went on to complete his internship and residency in internal medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. This was followed by advanced fellowship training in allergy and immunology & sleep medicine at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine.

Throughout his training, Dr. Ricketti was involved in multiple clinical trials at the University of South Florida – Division of Allergy and Immunology Clinical Research Unit with basic and clinical research interests including: the pathogenesis and treatment of asthma and allergic diseases, aerobiology, primary and secondary immunodeficiency diseases, HIV, bone marrow transplantation, insect hypersensitivity, allergen immunotherapy, comorbid conditions affecting asthma and upper airway disease, chronic obstructive lung disease, viral respiratory tract infection and asthma, asthma and allergy in the elderly, hereditary angioedema, chronic urticaria and angioedema, atopic eczema, sleep apnea, nasal polyposis, pulmonary interstitial fibrosis, pulmonary artery hypertension, drug allergy, and oral immunotherapy in severe peanut allergic patients. He also wrote book chapters relating to allergic rhinitis and stinging insect hypersensitivity along with various manuscripts relating to novel therapeutics in allergic rhinitis and chronic spontaneous urticaria. 

During this time, he became proficient in rhinolaryngoscopy and drug-induced sedation endoscopy to measure levels of upper airway obstruction that contribute to intolerance and non-adherence with PAP therapy in obstructive sleep apnea populations. Following his education, he remained as a Clinical Faculty Instructor in the Allergy Division. 

With a passion for his field and an unwavering commitment to his specialty, the doctor is board-certified in allergy and immunology through the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI). The ABAI establishes qualifications and examines physicians to become recognized specialists in allergy and immunology. It is a conjoint board of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics.

Additionally, he is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine – a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world; as well as board-certified in sleep medicine by the American Board of Sleep Medicine – a nonprofit organization that certifies physicians, PhDs, specialists, and technologists in the specialty of sleep medicine.

For the purpose of advancing his efforts, Dr. Ricketti remains a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association, the Florida Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, the American Osteopathic Association, the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association, and Alpha Epsilon Delta – the National Health Preprofessional Honor Society.

The field of allergy and immunology involves the management of disorders related to the immune system. These conditions range from the very common to the very rare, spanning all ages and encompassing various organ systems. An allergist / immunologist is a physician specially trained to diagnose, treat, and manage allergies, asthma, and immunologic disorders, including primary immunodeficiency.

On the subject of his numerous accolades, Dr. Ricketti is the recipient of the Founders Award – 2nd place for best abstract and oral presentation by the Southern Sleep Society Conference (2018), the Outstanding Professionalism Award by the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School – Department of Internal Medicine (2013), and the Kenneth J. Walker, DO Memorial Award for the medical student who exhibits outstanding diagnostic radiology skills by the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (2012), among many others.
