Dr. Kashyap is a Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Fellowship trained in Nephrology who holds in-depth clinical knowledge and has a wide range of skills in Nephrology, Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine, currently practicing with North Georgia Nephrology Consultants. The goal of the North Georgia Nephrology Consultants is early detection of kidney disease and slowing/preventing its progression, to avoid dialysis, if at all possible. When appropriate, they refer their patients for kidney transplants and manage their pre and post-transplant care. Dr. Kashyap graduated with his Medical Degree from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences, in Bangalore, India in 2002. After obtaining his medical degree, he pursued further training in the United Kingdom where he trained in various programs in Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine from 2004-2012. To fulfill his long-term career aspiration of being a Nephrologist he moved to the United States where he completed his Internal Medicine Internship and Residency with Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio; followed by Nephrology Fellowship at Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Kashyap is certified in Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. Nephrology is a specialty of medicine and pediatrics that concerns itself with the kidneys: the study of normal kidney function and kidney disease, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy (dialysis and kidney transplantation). Nephrology also studies systemic conditions that affect the kidneys, such as diabetes and autoimmune disease; and systemic diseases that occur as a result of kidney disease, such as renal osteodystrophy and hypertension.
