“I believe strongly in patient-focused, holistic medical care. I work with my patients and provide a strong emphasis on preventive medicine so my patients are able to maintain their good health” as stated by Dr. Berquist. Prior to his current endeavors, he practiced emergency medicine for over thirty years at Clovis Community Medical Center.

A member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the California Academy of Family Physicians, the doctor is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine, a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.  

In addition, he is board-certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, which certifies emergency physicians who meet its educational, professional, and examination standards.

In regards to his educational background, Dr. Berquist earned his Master of Public Health degree from the UCLA School of Public Health in 1975, followed by his Master of Science degree in 1977 as a part of the UC Berkeley-UCSF Joint Medical Program. Two years later, in 1979, he obtained his medical degree from the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine. Wanting to further his training, he completed his residency in family medicine at UCSF Fresno.

Ensuring an impeccable degree of patient satisfaction in all facets of his work, Dr. Berquist is the recipient of several awards and honors, including Top Ten Family Practitioner by Sante Community Physicians (2019), Leading Physicians of World by the International Association of Healthcare Professionals (2018), Service Appreciation Award by Sante Community Physicians (2017), America’s Best Physicians by the National Consumers Advisory Board (2016), Santes Physicians Top Physicians by Sante Community Physicians (2016), Fresno’s Top Docs Award by Fresno Magazine (2006), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2010, 2012), Patients’ Choice Award (2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015), and Top 10 Doctor – City (2014).
