  • Do chiropractors recommend posture correctors?

Posture correctors are good in starting the "mental training" and awareness of postural deficits. After about 4-6 weeks of posture correctors, I would advise seeking a chiropractic evaluation for exercises and ergonomic practices to assist with posture correction. Whether it is neck or low back posture correction, each method is different depending on which region that is in question. Chiropractic evaluations are effective in identifying spinal deficits, and generating a treatment plan for stabilize those regions. READ MORE

  • How should I lay with lower back pain?

I love this question, I sleep this way myself. If I'm laying on my back, I put a pillow underneath my knees (small pillow just to put a bend in the knees). This will remove that pinching/heavy feeling in the tailbone/hip area. As you transition to side-sleeping, I put the pillow "long-ways" down my lower legs (below the knees). This takes the pulling/stretching pain off the sides of my hips and prevents, what I call, "tornado sleeping". You should wake up feeling more restful. Try to avoid sleeping on your stomach, as it does contribute to early aging and degeneration of the upper neck which can cause headaches/migraines and sinus pressure in the eyes and nose. I wouldn't want to have a "cold/sinus infection" feeling while going to school. READ MORE

  • What is the fastest home remedy for back pain?

For that QUICK relief, I would recommend using a hot pack for about 10 minutes at a time 2-3 times/day. This will give that "feel good-- ahhh" relief and will help you move better for work and household activities. Low back pain usually resurfaces frequently, as it is a complex and constantly active region of the body. I would recommended seeking a chiropractic evaluation to assess what pain generator is being stimulated. Each pain generator is unique and has a specific method of receiving treatment. Keep me posted on how the hot pack is helping and how long its giving you relief for. READ MORE

  • Can chiropractors reverse scoliosis?

Yes, chiropractors are well known for treating scoliotic conditions of varying severity. When seeking chiropractic evaluation, you should expect x-ray imaging to be ordered in order to identify the apex of the scoliosis (the supposed "kink" in the spine) and if there are any joint changes that the chiropractor should take into consideration when prescribing a treatment plan. • Can chiropractic adjustment heal a sports injury?

Sports injuries in general, respond great to chiropractic adjustments. Most sports injuries involve joint damage and joint fixations. Our job as chiropractors is to "unlock" those fixations and perform exercises to stabilize the joint. Chiropractic adjustments help with recovery time, preservation of joint health, and improved sports performance. READ MORE
