Vanessa Parisi, DO, MS, MPH, FACOG, NCMP, PMH-C is a graduate and former Global Health Academic Medicine Scholar from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. While in medical school, she earned her master’s degree in Neuromusculoskeletal Sciences & Certificate in Global Health from New York Institute of Technology. She simultaneously earned her master's in Public Health from A.T. Still University's School of Health Management. Dr. Parisi continued her training in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at Saint Barnabas Medical Center (SBMC) in Livingston, New Jersey where she served as administrative chief resident.
Dr. Parisi is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist. She earned her Postpartum Support International (PSI) and 2020 Mom’s Maternal Mental Health Certificate & PSI Advanced Psychopharmacology Certificate. She just completed her final Certification in Perinatal Mental Health and has been hired as a Maternal Mental Health Hotline Counselor for PSI. She has been recently appointed to the Chair of Advocacy position for the New Jersey PSI chapter. She also is a North American Menopause Society Certified Menopause Practitioner.
She holds several academic appointments at area residencies, medical schools, and nursing programs. In 2019, she received the Teacher of the Year Award from the Mountainside Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program. In 2021, she received the Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching from the Hackensack Meridian Health School of Medicine.
She is the President Elect of the New Jersey Obstetrical & Gynecological Society (NJOGS). She is also very involved in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) for District III, participating in community service, advocacy, and education of young physicians. She is one of two Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Champions and the Social Media/Communications Chair for her District. Dr. Parisi’s passions include spending time with her family & friends, volunteerism, community education, and medical outreach. She has participated in trips to Ecuador, Uganda, Ghana, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Peru, and the Philippines.
Currently Doctor Parisi is a solo OBGYN & women's health provider in a hospital-based practice in Nutley, New Jersey. She will be transitioning positions in June to a hospitalist model with additional roles in leadership, advocacy, and education. Details coming soon. She is not accepting new patients at this time.
