Get to know Family Practitioner Dr. Molly R. Zavala, who serves patients in Rockford, Illinois.

Dr. Zavala is a board certified family practitioner who is currently serving patients at Crusader Community Health in Rockford, Illinois. Crusader Community Health is a community-based, not-for-profit community health center whose mission is to serve the Rock River Valley area with quality primary health care for all people in need. All physicians at Crusader are American trained and board-certified or board-eligible in their primary care specialties. This allows Crusader to provide first-rate professional services in a caring, patient-focused, and respectful setting.

Dr. Zavala’s special interests include palliative care and women’s & children’s sports medicine. Dr. Zavala earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford. She then went on to complete her residency in family medicine at the same university. Dr. Zavala is a member of the Winnebago County Medical Society. 

Dr. Zavala is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties. In addition to English, Dr. Zavala is fluent in Spanish.

Family medicine, formerly family practice, is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. A family practitioner is a doctor who specializes in caring for the entire family. They serve as a doctor for individuals regardless of their age and gender.
