Get to know Dermatologist Dr. Reid Green, who serves patients in Coral Springs, Florida.
A board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Green practices at Skin and Cancer Associates, seeing patients at their offices in Coral Springs, Florida. What he enjoys most about dermatology is that many times the dermatologist is the first provider to notice signs of internal disease. Ranging from the correlation with psoriasis and cardiovascular disease to entities such as the subtle nail fold changes seen in various connective tissue diseases, the dermatologist is in a unique position to counsel patients on their health and to be part of a multidisciplinary team to optimize patients’ quality of life.
Skin and Cancer Associates (SCA) is a private dermatology group comprised of over 80 dermatologists, nurse practitioners and physician assistants at more than 30 locations in Florida. The group has been providing comprehensive medical, cosmetic and surgical dermatology care for over 30 years.
A native Floridian, Dr. Green studied biology at the University of Florida and graduated summa cum laude. He was in the second “pioneering” class at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, was the first person to match into dermatology from this medical school, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
The doctor’s internship in internal medicine was completed at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. He then moved to Austin, Texas and completed his residency in dermatology at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School, where he served as Chief Resident during his final year.
An authority in his field, he is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology, which is a voluntary, non-profit, private, autonomous organization formed for the primary purpose of protecting the public interest by establishing and maintaining high standards of training, education, and qualifications of physicians rendering care in dermatology.
Although he thoroughly enjoys seeing patients of all ages, Dr. Green has a special passion for dermatologic conditions afflicting the geriatric population and was the co-founder of the Geriatric Interest Group in medical school. He hopes to expand upon this passion throughout his career by continuing to stay up-to-date with the latest research and treatment options for patients of all ages.
Published in both the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Pediatric Dermatology Journal, he has also presented many posters on various dermatologic conditions at statewide meetings.
