What are the side effects of a chiropractic adjustment?
Compared to many pharmaceutical options, the side effects for chiropractic are little, if any. In fact the side effects are usually positive! Things like better sleep, more energy, etc., are often reported. However, depending on the stiffness of your spine, you could experience very minimal muscle soreness the day after. It won't phase you and you'll be glad you went! Respectfully, READ MORE
Will my chiropractor tell me how often I need to see them?
Generally an acute injury will be somewhere around 2-3 times per week at the start. Over time, you can space out the visits more but you must make sure the problem is actually FIXED. Meaning, don't just quit as soon as it "feels better" -- Let the doc do her work and actually fix the underlying problem in your spine! Best of luck! Respectfully, READ MORE
Why am I experiencing muscle spasms and discomfort in my arm?
This is most likely due to: 1. Misaligned spine in the neck causing nerve trouble to those areas 2. Overuse of the arm I would consult with a chiropractor immediately and have him/her take a careful look at the cervical spine (neck). Respectfully, READ MORE
Is chiropractic adjustment effective for sciatica?
Yes. It will relieve that nerve that goes down the leg. Please have this addressed with a chiropractor! Respectfully, READ MORE
What do chiropractors do when they crack your back?
The difference between your back cracking on its own and cracking when the chiropractor works on you is indeed the answer to this question! That being said, let me get to said answer: When a chiropractor adjusts, you he/she is correcting a misalignment in the spine that is causing dysfunction and damage to the nerve system, which controls the entire body. The doctor will use his or her hands to gently adjust the misaligned bones back into proper alignment, thus taking pressure off of the nerve system, and restoring the body to health, naturally. Don't get me wrong, this may take more than one adjustment to get things perfect, BUT it is well well worth the process. Good luck and enjoy the chiropractic lifestyle! Respectfully, READ MORE
What should I wear to a chiropractic appointment?
Gym clothes are ideal. But any mode of dress works! Respectfully, READ MORE
Why do you need to drink water after a chiropractic adjustment?
I do not tell patients this is required. My sincerest hope is that people are hydrating on a daily basis because it is essential to health. There is no reason to increase water intake after chiropractic care. Respectfully, READ MORE
Can a chiropractor help with knee arthritis?
The more balanced your spine and hips are, the more you are ensuring that your knees have equal pressure on them. The more misaligned the hips, the more uneven the knees and the more wear and tear. Chiropractic also helps balance stress hormones, physiology, etc. in the body...all good for joint inflammation. A DC can also adjust your knees, feet, ankles if needed! Good luck! Respectfully, READ MORE
Is it ok to feel bad after first chiropractic adjustment?
Perfectly okay! As the chiropractor begins to work on you, your body will undergo many changes and re-structuring. As the body returns to balance, your weight distribution can change, muscle lengths can change, etc. Your body will need some time to truly mount a healing response. If you are not feeling any improvement after 10-20 visits, it may be time to seek a second opinion. This is why it is so vitally important that you select a chiropractor that you feel is right for you. I always recommend one that takes x-rays, analyzes your entire case, and lays out a care plan for you to get fully better and continue to stay that way into the future. Best of luck with your healing! Respectfully, READ MORE
Is chiropractic treatment effective for neck pain?
I would definitely suggest seeing a chiropractor. It will address the underlying cause of the neck pain most effectively! Good luck! Respectfully, READ MORE

Should a chiropractor help me with my leg stiffness?
A chiropractor would be a great choice. They will re-balance the spine and nervous system, which will benefit you greatly. Also, look into a qualified massage therapist or someone who does Active Release Technique. Respectfully, READ MORE
Can I get adjusted without an underlying condition?
Absolutely. In fact, it is highly recommended for all human beings who wish to stay in optimal health throughout life! READ MORE
How often should I go to the chiropractor?
I have treated hundreds of these. Start at 3x/wk for 2-3 months. Then back off to once per week for maintenance. Depending on the condition of your spine, of course. But this is a good recommendation to start with! Respectfully, READ MORE
What happens when you don't drink water after adjustment?
Nothing will happen if you don't drink water. That is not necessary, but it will certainly help your body be healthier. This advice is more important after a massage, when actual soft tissue is being broken down for over an hour and needs the extra water to help flush toxins out of the system. I suppose this could apply to chiropractic also, but it is not mandatory! Respectfully, READ MORE
Is there something wrong with my hip joint?
Hopefully you had an X-ray post-crash to rule out any fractures. It sounds like you could have some muscle or ligament strains/sprains. It is also likely you have several spinal/hip joints misaligned and that require correction. See a chiropractor and get X-rays to evaluate the alignment of these areas! Respectfully, READ MORE
Can I work out after a chiropractic adjustment?
Yes. Working out after is fine. READ MORE
Is chiropractic treatment safe for a 60-year-old?
Chiropractic is safe for all ages and will help anyone live a better quality of life! READ MORE
Is my lower back pain related to my sciatic nerve?
The sciatic pain is from your lower back. Many times, there is an issue brewing in the lower back and the pain and/or sciatica can manifest as a result of lower back dysfunction. I would see a chiropractor to get it examined and begin getting your lower back adjusted over the next few months especially! Respectfully, READ MORE
How long does chiropractic adjustment last?
That is dependent on your age, overall level of health, history, exam, X-rays, smoker/non-smoker, stress levels, type of work you do, hobbies, etc. It ALL matters! A more appropriate question is to ask, "Is this a lifestyle routine that I am able to adopt or not?" Going to the chiropractor is more like going to the gym than going to get treatment at a medical clinic. It is beneficial for you throughout your entire life! I will say: Adjustments used to "hold" much longer back in the day due to less stress, pollution in air, food, water, etc. Respectfully, READ MORE
