Kimberly A. Erdman, RDH, PHDHP, is a dental hygienist and public health dental hygiene practitioner in Montgomery County. Kimberly started her clinical career as a civiliandental hygienist for the United States Navy and spent 9 years as a volunteer forensic dental technician with the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. In this role, she worked as part of a team to complete forensic dental identifications on services members and federal agents killed on deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Kimberly transitioned into academia and has a decade of experience as a professor of dental hygiene and academic affairs administrator. Her experience in leadership roles strengthened her communication skills and research interest in working with patients experincing dental anxiety and fear.
Kimberly has strong passion for practicing to full extent of licensure for dental hygienists and not just "cleaning teeth". She takes multiple approaches to manage and control dental diseases (cavities, bleeding gums/gingivitis, gum disease) to produce the most successful outcomes for patients. Kimberly excels in patient education and working with patients to decrease their fears, manage dental diseases, and to feel confident about themselves. Kimberly strives to provide a non-judgemnetal space where all patients feel welcome, respected, and heard.
