Graduating from the Vanderbilt University School of Engineering in 2007, Dr. Graff went on to attend the Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine for his medical education. He completed his residency in anatomic & clinical pathology at the UC Irvine Medical Center in 2016, before completing his fellowship in hematopathology at the UC Davis Medical Center in 2017.

As a testament to his success, the doctor is board-certified in anatomic & clinical pathology, hematopathology, and clinical informatics by the American Board of Pathology (ABPath). The mission of the ABPath is to promote the health of the public and advance the practice and science of pathology by establishing voluntary certification standards and assessing the qualifications of those seeking to practice the specialty of pathology.

An enthusiastic researcher, he applied his expertise in hematopathology to several publications related to the recent and ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and its impacts on the hematologic system. His research has been vital in diagnosing and treating those critically ill with the virus as we discover more about its pathophysiology. He has also worked on a California-wide initiative to classify the causes and types of Alzheimer's dementia and collaborates with colleagues at other University of California campuses.
