Dr. Green is an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN), Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC), and Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) with more than 25 years in the healthcare field. She is the CEO and owner of Darden Functional Health, LLC, an innovative healthcare practice specializing in functional medicine.

Embarking on her healthcare journey at the age of 16 as a feeder tech at a local nursing home, Dr. Green provided assistance to patients who struggled with self-feeding. She pursued her education while serving in the U.S. Army Reserves, earning her Associate of Science in Nursing Degree and Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Troy University in Montgomery, Alabama, in 1997 and 1999, respectively. Dr. Green later pursued her Master of Science in Nursing Degree in Family Health Nursing from the University of South Florida in 2010.

After establishing herself as a primary care provider, she returned to academia and completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) Degree from the University of Alabama in August 2015. Her DNP project, “Early identification and treatment of PAD in type 2 diabetes: Utilization of an evidence-based algorithm and ABI assessments,” earned her the Innovation in Practice Award.

Her nursing career encompassed various fields, including Addiction Recovery, Psychiatry, Maternal Child Care (including PICU, NICU, and Postpartum-Mother/Baby), School Health Nursing in Italy, and Acute Care Pediatrics. Notably, Dr. Green received accolades such as Nurse of the Year for Pediatrics and Nurse of the Year for the Maternal/Child Division at Tampa General Hospital.

Imparting her knowledge to nurse practitioner students specializing in maternal and child health nursing, Dr. Green also serves as a Visiting Professor for the Chamberlain College of Nursing. As a student of the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM) and the Functional Nutritional Alliance, her ultimate goal is to make functional medicine accessible and affordable to all.
