Working with their colleagues in endocrinology, pathology, nuclear medicine, gastroenterology and radiology, they have developed a multidisciplinary approach to maximize the outcomes for their patients.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Paras is a first generation Greek-American. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2004. He then completed his internship and residency in endocrinology, diabetes & metabolism at SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn in 2007 and 2010, respectively.

A Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), the doctor is board-certified in endocrinology, diabetes & metabolism, and internal medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM). The AOBIM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults (internists).

Moreover, he is a board-certified specialist in clinical hypertension by The American Hypertension Specialist Certification Program, which was formed by the American Society of Hypertension in 1998 in response to the growing recognition that the hypertension problem requires the coordinated effort of front-line health care providers and those physicians with documented expertise in managing hypertension.

As for his academic appointment, Dr. Paras serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Frank H. Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac in North Haven, Connecticut. He has also taught medical board review programs throughout the United States and Canada and is an instructor in Kaplan’s popular live, online review programs.

A skilled writer, he is the author of a series of books titled “The Chronicles of Atlantis”. His interest and passion for medicine is paralleled by his love of history and mythology. His focus has consistently been the origins of the most ancient civilizations and their respective mythologies, and what their influence has been on the modern world. His studies on the parallels and contrasts of mythological heroes and villains, and their socio-political foundations inspired much of this series.
