Get to know Gastroenterologist Dr. Russell S. Parvin, who serves patients in Waterbury, Connecticut.

A board-certified gastroenterologist, Dr. Parvin treats a broad array of gastrointestinal conditions, including GERD and other gastroesophageal diseases, hepatitis, cirrhosis, pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel disease, and many others. He has been with Trinity Health of New England since 2017, and currently serves as Chief of the Department of Gastroenterology at Saint Mary’s Hospital.

Pertaining to his educational pursuits, Dr. Parvin graduated with his medical degree from the SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn. He went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, followed by a fellowship in hepatology at the SUNY Downstate Health Science Center, and a fellowship in gastroenterology at the Brooklyn Hospital Center.

An authority in his field, the doctor is board-certified in gastroenterology, hepatology, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Throughout his career, he has authored multiple research publications in peer-reviewed journals and has presented his work at regional and national scientific meetings, and has won multiple clinical and research awards.
