Get to know General Surgeon Dr. Chadwick Towne Rastatter, who serves patients in Atlantis, Florida.

Dr. Rastatter is a board-certified general surgeon with advanced training in minimally invasive, robotic and bariatric surgery. He is affiliated with The Center for Advanced Surgical Care - Atlantis.

A South Florida native, he graduated from Cardinal Gibbons High School and completed his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Florida where he graduated cum laude. He subsequently received his medical degree from Saint George’s University School of Medicine, and completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Miami Palm Beach Regional Campus where he served as Chief Resident and received the Resident of the Year Award. Building on his interest in surgical technology, he completed his fellowship in advanced GI minimally invasive surgery at South Miami Baptist Hospital.

Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in general surgery and bariatric surgery through the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.

Holding a license to practice medicine in Florida, Dr. Rastatter can be found on staff at JFK Medical Center, JFK Medical Center - North Campus, and Palms West Hospital.

General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland. A general surgeon performs a wide range of abdominal surgeries for many forms of intestinal and abdominal wall neoplasms, gallbladder disease, gastric and pancreatic disease. They follow the patient through critical care and surgical recovery all the way to outpatient care.
