Get to know Oncologist Dr. Megha Shah, who serves patients in Flemington, New Jersey.

Dr. Shah is a knowledgeable oncologist whose clinical interests include breast and gynecologic malignancies as well as cancer survivorship and end-of-life issues. She is in practice with Hunterdon Hematology Oncology, LLC.

Hunterdon Hematology Oncology, LLC is a community oncology group that is dedicated to fighting cancer in the Flemington, New Jersey community and across the region. “It’s our mission to provide the latest and best treatments available to every patient. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Dr. Shah completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at New York University in New York City. She then completed a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center, Temple University in Philadelphia. She was actively involved in research and several trials while at Fox Chase Cancer Center.

Recognized as a member of the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the doctor is board-certified in medical oncology, hematology, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Oncology is a branch of medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. A medical professional who practices oncology is an oncologist. An oncologist is a doctor who treats cancer and provides medical care for a person diagnosed with cancer. They lead a cancer treatment team of various healthcare professionals, treat patients with radiation therapy, coordinate treatment plans and prescribe various types of treatment, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy, as well as assist patients with pain management.

On a more personal note, Dr. Shah enjoys exploring all that New Jersey has to offer with her husband and two young sons. She also enjoys traveling, cooking, and watching football.
