Get to know Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, Ann Nye, who serves patients in Gastonia, North Carolina.

Ann is a neonatal nurse practitioner with Pediatrix Neonatology of Gaston at Caromont Regional Medical Center in North Carolina.

The mission of Pediatrix Neonatology of Gaston is to provide compassionate, world-class care to the most vulnerable babies while supporting families throughout their child’s hospital stay. The multidisciplinary team is equipped to provide comprehensive care for seriously ill newborns and address complications of prematurity and other issues such as respiratory, craniofacial, endocrine, and gastroenterological conditions. They strive to provide comprehensive, evidence-based care with an emphasis on open communication to ensure the tiniest patients and their families feel cared for and nurtured.

Graduating with her undergraduate degree from Bloomsburg University in 1991, Ann went on to attend professional school at the University of Pennsylvania, earning her degree in 2001.

Demonstrating advanced knowledge and skill, she is certified through the National Certification Corporation (NCC). The NCC was established for the development, administration, and evaluation of a program for certification in obstetric, gynecologic and neonatal nursing specialties in the United States.

A neonatal nurse practitioner is an advanced practice registered nurse with at least 2 years experience as a bedside registered nurse in a Level III NICU, who is prepared to practice across the continuum, providing primary, acute, chronic, and critical care to neonates, infants, and toddlers through age 2.
