Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Monique M. Leung, who serves patients in Honolulu and Kapolei, Hawaii.

Dr. Leung is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist who practices at Oahu OBGYN in Honolulu and Kapolei, Hawaii. She has a renowned talent for minimally invasive surgery using the da Vinci Xi® robotic system and regularly performs hysterectomies, myomectomies, and laparoscopies. 

Oahu OB/GYN is a unique clinic providing advanced obstetric and gynecological treatments with an additional menu of trendy aesthetic services. Women can access safe and sympathetic care for all of their feminine health needs. Treating patients of all ages and backgrounds, Dr. Leung is widely known in her workplace for her superlative work ethics as provingly manifested in her loving relationship with her patients and her teammates. 

Born and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Leung attended Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, where she received her degree in Elementary Education. She completed her medical degree at the American University of Antigua in New York in 2013, where she earned the title of Head Teaching Assistant and graduated as Valedictorian of her class. 

Dr. Leung completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Saint Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where she was selected Academic Chief Resident and recognized with an award for Recognition of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology. At present, she is on the teaching faculty for America’s Board Review Course for OB-GYN.  

Outside her medical career, Dr. Leung also is a competitive Latin Dance performer. She enjoys teaching Latin international ballroom, salsa, and bachata dances, playing piano, as well as playing volleyball and tennis as her pastimes.  Additional to her native English language, Dr. Leung is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and in command of some good Spanish. 

A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), Dr. Leung is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, which is a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada.

Obstetrics and Gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts). An obstetrician-gynecologist, or OB-GYN, is a healthcare professional who specializes in female reproductive health.
