Get to know Gastroenterologist Dr. Natalie Anne Pavelock, who serves patients in Utica, New York.

Specializing in all GI disorders, Dr. Pavelock is a board-certified gastroenterologist working at Digestive Disease Medicine of Central New York in Utica, New York. Her clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease, advanced endoscopy, and women’s health in gastroenterology.

Prior to her current endeavors, she worked at Northern New Mexico Gastroenterology from August 2018 until December 2021, serving as a gastroenterology consultant to Christus St. Vincent Medical Center, as well as Presbyterian Health Center. She also provided private consultative services to the greater Northern New Mexico area. 

Raised in Clinton, New York, Dr. Pavelock went on to earn her medical degree from the Poznan University of Medical Sciences in Poznan, Poland. She then relocated to the United States, completing her residency in internal medicine at NYU-Langone, and her fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at SUNY Upstate Medical University, where she served as chief fellow from 2017-2018.

A member of the American Gastroenterological Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the doctor is board-certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

With a focus on the digestive system, Dr. Pavelock is certified in endoscopy, colonoscopy, small bowel capsule endoscopy, esophageal manometry/24-hour Ph Probe and the CHR O’Regan painless hemorrhoid banding system. She is additionally trained and certified in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography.

Gastroenterology is the branch of medicine focused on the digestive system and its disorders. A gastroenterologist is a physician who has extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to the esophagus, stomach, small intestines, colon, liver, pancreas, and biliary system.

In her spare time, Dr. Pavelock loves to explore national parks with her dogs, Max and Fergus. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and Polish.
