Get to know Anesthesiologist Dr. Marshall K. Lee, who serves patients in Portland, Oregon.

A skilled anesthesiologist, Dr. Lee is in practice at OHSU Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine Clinic, Marquam Hill. He is also an intensivist for the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit of the Knight Cardiovascular Institute. He provides critical care for patients in acute heart failure, STEMIs, post-cardiac arrest, and post-operative cardiac surgery.

Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Lee graduated with his Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College, and earned his medical degree from the Drexel University College of Medicine. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, and his fellowship in critical care medicine at the Oregon Health & Science University.

As a testament to his success, the doctor is board-certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). As the certifying body for anesthesiologists since 1938, the ABA is committed to partnering with physicians to advance lifelong learning and exceptional patient care. Its mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology.

On a professional level, Dr. Lee is a proud member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, and the Society of Critical Care Anesthesiologists.

Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. Anesthesiologists have the primary responsibility of monitoring the patient’s vital signs during surgery. In addition to basic measurements such as pulse, blood pressure, and temperature, they measure the patient’s respiration.
