Dr. Rajan is a highly trained gastroenterologist whose clinical interests include Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, reflux disease, esophageal disorders, liver disease, and colorectal cancer prevention. He joined Digestive Health Specialists, P.A. in July of 2016, currently practicing out of the offices in King and Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Digestive Health Specialists, P.A. provides patient-centered, evidence-based treatment and preventative management of all digestive disorders and conditions, including celiac disease, colon cancer prevention, constipation, Crohn’s disease, diarrhea, hepatitis and related liver problems, irritable bowel syndrome, reflux disease and swallowing difficulties, ulcerative colitis, and ulcers. The mission of the practice is to provide exceptional, local, timely, and patient-centered medical service.
Born and raised in Western Maryland, Dr. Rajan received his Bachelor of Science degree from West Virginia University in 2004. Upon graduation, he attended medical school at St. Christopher Iba Mar Diop College of Medicine in England, where he subsequently earned his medical degree in 2008, graduating magna cum laude.
He completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Nassau University Medical Center in New York, where he was also Chief Resident of the Internal Medicine Residency Program. He was awarded Intern of the Year, Resident of the Year, and Fellow of the Year during his training. Dr. Rajan also completed a 4th year fellowship in advanced inflammatory bowel disease at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore in 2016.
A specialist in the health of the digestive system, Dr. Rajan is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
