Get to know Pulmonologist Dr. Isaac Noble Biney, who serves patients in Knoxville, Tennessee.

A board-certified and fellowship-trained pulmonologist and intensivist, Dr. Biney is affiliated with The University of Tennessee Medical Center. His interests include pulmonary vascular diseases, interstitial lung diseases, exercise physiology, COPD, and ultrasound use in critical care.

Located in Knoxville, Tennessee, The University of Tennessee Medical Center has a rich history in the East Tennessee community of providing patient-centered care and remaining at the forefront of research, technology and treatments. It attributes its well-respected standing within the community to the exceptional people that dedicate themselves to patient care excellence. The hospital serves as a referral center for Eastern Tennessee, Southeastern Kentucky and Western North Carolina. A native of Ghana, Dr. Biney graduated with his medical degree from the University of Ghana School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2009. He completed his housemanship in internal medicine and  obstetrics & gynecology at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in 2010, and his housemanship in general surgery and pediatrics at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital in 2011. 

Wanting to further his education, he relocated to the United States, where he completed a residency at the Howard University Hospital, and a fellowship in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine.

As a testament of his continued education, the doctor is board-certified in pulmonary disease, critical care medicine and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Continuously advancing his efforts, Dr. Biney is an active member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the American College of Chest Physicians, and the American Thoracic Society.
