Renowned obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Atkerson, has a passion for caring for women through all stages of life and is trained in the MonaLisa Touch procedure for gynecological health. A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, she is in practice with Women Partners In OB/GYN in San Antonio, Texas, which she joined in 2003. 

Women Partners In OB/GYN has been providing care to women in North San Antonio since 1985. In 1995, Dr. Atkerson obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. Four years later, in 1999, she earned her medical degree from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock. She then went on to complete her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Tennessee in Memphis in 2003. 

The doctor is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, which is a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada.
