Dr. Ashton earned his medical degree from the Saint Louis University School of Medicine in 1991. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in general surgery at the University of Southern California, followed by his fellowship in thoracic & cardiovascular surgery at the same University. Dr. Ashton is board-certified in thoracic & cardiac surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
Dr. Ashton’s interests include off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting, mitral valve repair, aortic valve replacement, mini maze procedure, minimally invasive valve surgery, thoracoscopic procedures, lung cancer, and esophageal cancer.
