Get to know General Dentist Dr. Kourtland B. Haile, who serves patients in Columbia, South Carolina.

Specializing in general dentistry, Dr. Haile’s motto is “make the first impression your best impression.” A member of the American Dental Association, he strives to promote and enhance the education of dentistry amongst the communities he serves by responding to the individual needs of his patients to help them achieve their dental goals.

Currently, he tends to patients’ dental needs at South Carolina Dental Center in Columbia, South Carolina. In practice alongside Dr. Steven E. Lanham, DDS, their number one goal is to provide the people of Columbia, South Carolina with comprehensive, affordable dental care. They utilize state-of-the-art technology to view each patient’s entire dental profile in unprecedented detail so that they can analyze and diagnose with extraordinary accuracy, as well as establish preventative dental care that ensures a smile will last a lifetime.

After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Dr. Haile went on to obtain his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. 

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. General dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy. 

In his free time, Dr. Haile’s hobbies include writing and exercising.
