How many acupuncture sessions does it take to see results?
That's a good question. Acupuncture is a clinically effective therapy for headaches. Like physical therapy, acupuncture usually involves a course of treatments over a period of weeks. Factors that will help in determining the most likely number of treatments include but are not limited to the following: -acute vs chronic -seasonal influences -unidentified food sensitivities (think coffee, wine, chocolate, wheat) -What level of intensity the migraines are rated. If the patient takes pharmaceuticals -they be contributing factors. It is reasonable to have 1 treatment a week for 3- 4 weeks and then reevaluate. Best of luck to you. READ MORE
Can acupuncture help lung problems?
Thanks for the question. Acupuncture is part of a whole system of medicine known best in the West as TCM or Traditional Chinese Medicine, Like Western medicine, Acupuncture is able to treat all systems of the body including a variety of issues with the pulmonary system (lungs). Seek out a nationally certified provider. In Massachusetts all acupuncturists (and physicians) are licensed by the Board of Registration in Medicine. This varies by state. Best of luck to you. Is it ok to get a massage after acupuncture?
That's a great question. The short answer is yes. Ultimately this is a question for your own acupuncturist as they will have your history on file and can identify any possible contraindications. For example pregnant patients may not be able to have back to back treatments. Also your acupuncture practitioner may include Tui Na medical message as part of your course of treatment or they may suggest massage prior to the treatment. I hope this helps you. READ MORE
