Get to know Rheumatologist Dr. Rana Mongroo, who serves patients in Hewlett, New York.

Energetic, compassionate, and passionate about patient care, Dr. Mongroo is a highly trained rheumatologist in practice with Rheumatology Consultants, LLP in Hewlett, New York. 

Her clinical interests are broad and include connective tissue diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthropathies, vasculitis, crystalline arthritis, scleroderma, antiphospholipid syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjogren’s syndrome, and osteoporosis.

A native New Yorker, Dr. Mongroo completed all levels of her education there. She attended SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, which was immediately followed by a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in rheumatology at NYU Winthrop Hospital.

Subsequent to her education, she attained board certification in rheumatology and internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Striving to perform at the highest standards, Dr. Mongroo is affiliated with St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, Mercy Hospital – Rockville Centre, and Mount Sinai South Nassau.

Rheumatology is a branch of medicine devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic diseases. Physicians who have undergone formal training in rheumatology are called rheumatologists. Rheumatologists treat arthritis, autoimmune diseases and osteoporosis.
