Precision Regenerative and Functional Medicine is a medical practice in Austin, Texas, dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of adult spinal and musculoskeletal disorders and sports injuries.
Both Dr. Dumitrescu and his staff are believers in Precision Medicine, or n=1 medicine, where every patient receives an individualized diagnostic and treatment plan based on their own particular circumstances, not on an "one size fits all" approach. The ABCs of Precision Medicine are Anthropometrics, Biomarkers, and Cognition. Anthropometrics refer to radiological studies, diagnostic injections, body composition analysis, and fitness measurements. Biomarkers are the blood, urine and saliva laboratory values, including high level genetic analysis. Cognition refers to evaluation of cognitive function and measures to prevent cognitive decline or slow it down once it occurred.
Using the ABCs, we make the correct diagnosis and proceed to the appropriate treatment. Our experience teaches us that using Regenerative Medicine (stem cells, platelet-rich plasma, bone marrow and adipose derived stem cells, exosomes, and perinatal tissue derived growth factors) in conjunction with optimization of body function through an Integrative/Functional Medicine approach is the way to effect lasting changes and prevent injury recurrence.
Our clinic employs the full range of fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided interventions, IV programs, peptide counseling, diet interventions, supplements, and hormone replacement therapies, together with an in-house small gym for rehabilitative services using the Neubie, a direct current machine for diagnosis and treatment of muscle and kinetic chain imbalances.

What is the best treatment for neck and shoulder pain?
The first question that needs to be asked is: are your symptoms a cervical spine issue or are they a shoulder issue? The reason this is important is because the treatment for the two problems is obviously very different. The diagnostic work-up usually consists in a history and physical examination, followed, if appropriate, by radiological studies. Depending on several variables, the radiological study of choice is usually a magnetic resonance imaging study (MRI). After analysis of the MRI, some diagnostic testing may be pursued, consisting in diagnostic anesthetic blocks directed at the cervical spine or the shoulder. Once a diagnosis is made, again depending on the severity, chronicity, and existing evidence, as well as the experience and technical proficiency of the physician, there may be several options of treatment, ranging from physical therapy and chiropractic care, spinal or shoulder injections of steroids, nerve ablation procedures, or regenerative procedures employing platelet-rich plasma, stem cells, etc. READ MORE
