Dr. Elias is a trusted cosmetic and reconstructive surgeon and oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He is the Founder and Medical Director of Southern California Center for Surgical Arts in Sherman Oaks, California. 

Displaying unmatched surgical expertise, he belongs to an elite group of surgeons performing innovative surgical techniques in cosmetic and maxillofacial surgery. His patients in and around Sherman Oaks depend on his extensive skill, surgical expertise, and artistic eye to restore function while achieving aesthetic results.

With a background in both reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, Dr. Elias has developed a unique practice that encompasses a wide range of cosmetic and maxillofacial surgeries. He is an expert in facial and body contouring, facial rejuvenation, rhinoplasty, and corrective jaw surgery. A pioneer in TMJ surgery, he developed a new technique for the management of TMJ disorders using stem cells harvested from liposuction fat.

Born and raised in East Africa, Dr. Elias graduated with his undergraduate degree from the University of Khartoum in Sudan, then relocated to the United States to pursue his dream of becoming a surgeon. He received his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree, graduating with honors from the prestigious Boston University at the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. He then obtained his medical degree from the world-renowned Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. 

Wanting to further his education, he completed an internship in general surgery and a residency in maxillofacial surgery at the Case Western Reserve School of Medicine and the University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital. During this time, Dr. Elias worked at the Cleveland Clinic Head and Neck Institute and was Chief of the Maxillofacial Surgical Department. He was also selected to join a subspecialty fellowship in general cosmetic surgery accredited by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He completed his fellowship under the expertise of Dr. Jacob Haiavy at the Inland Cosmetic Surgery Medical Center in Southern California, where he learned many of the innovative techniques that inspired the work he strives to pioneer today. 

Prior to opening Southern California Center for Surgical Arts, Dr. Elias held the position of Section Head of Maxillofacial Surgery at the internationally renowned Cleveland Clinic Head and Neck Institute and served as a medical staff member for the NBA Cleveland Cavaliers. He also held a position as a staff surgeon at the Department of Head and Neck /Maxillofacial Surgery at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical center, one of America’s top hospitals.

Bringing a vast wealth of experience and knowledge to his field, he is a diplomate of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery, and the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), a distinction given to surgeons who pass a rigorous evaluation and exhibit exemplary character, professional qualifications, surgical competence, and ethical conduct.

Due to Dr. Elias’s commitment to excellent patient care and education, he has lectured nationally and internationally in both the field of cosmetic surgery and oral & maxillofacial surgery. He has also issued many publications in cosmetic, oral, and maxillofacial surgery in prestigious journals. 

On a more personal note, he is an avid sports enthusiast and a huge LeBaron James Fan!!. As a family man, he spends much of his free time with his son and lovely wife, Dr. Zainab Mahmoud, who is a family physician.
