Get to know Dentist Dr. Angela Marie Boehler, who serves patients in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Treating her patients like they are a part of her family, Dr. Boehler enjoys all aspects of general dentistry but has a particular fondness for facial rejuvenation and oral surgery. She is proud to be Charlotte County’s very own “Youth Fairy”, serving as the owner & operator of Simply Smiles, P.A. 

“Changing the way people think of dental visits is my main goal.  If I can make dentistry actually fun and relaxing while making my patients smile beautifully and feel better about themselves, more confident… I will consider myself a success. I consider my patients my dental family.  And I care about my family!” 

Ranked one of the Best Dentists in Port Charlotte in 2020, Dr. Boehler is very proud of her new, modern dental studio recently opened in the summer of 2020, designed with a strong emphasis on patient comfort and ease, creating beautiful smiles in a relaxing spa-like atmosphere. She has provided comprehensive dentistry for the entire family for 26 years but now with added comforts such as: digital impressions, digital radiographs and panoramics, 3 types of dental lasers, nitrous oxide, heated neck wraps and blankets,aromatherapy and relaxing music throughout and an attached DentiSpa providing facial esthetics procedures such as Botox, Juvederm, SkinPen microneedling, PDO threads for non-surgical facelifts, Dermaplaning, and muscle trigger point therapy.

Originally from the Springfield, Illinois area, Dr. Boehler received her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in 1994. After practicing as an associate dentist in Illinois for several years, she relocated to Florida, practiced in several public health clinics and eventually settled in private practice in Port Charlotte in 2001.

Over the years, she has been active in the academic side of dental medicine as well. She has been an adjunct clinical professor for several universities in Illinois as well as at Edison State College Dental Hygiene School in Ft. Myers (1996 – 1999) and the University of Florida School of Dental Medicine (1997 – 2000).

A past President of the Charlotte County Dental Society, Dr. Boehler holds multiple advanced post graduate certifications in multiple fields of dentistry, including laser dentistry, facial esthetics and cosmetics, neuromuscular therapy, dental implantology, sedation dentistry (double certification), and forensic odontology.  

In direct affiliation with her industry, she is an active member of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, the American Dental Association,and has been a member of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, the American Society of Forensic Odontology, and the Academy of Laser Dentistry.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth, mouth, head, neck and face are healthy. 

Among her philanthropic endeavours, Dr. Boehler is an active supporter of the Humane Society of Manatee County, the Underdog Rescue of Florida, and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. She is also a member of The Ninety-Nines: International Organization of Women Pilots.

In her private life, she is the proud mother of a son and 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 ferrets, and a lizard. When she is not practicing dentistry, she enjoys flying general aviation planes,(and was part of the very first all women flight crew to fly from the United States to Cuba in 2016),traveling, and cooking. Her favorite places to vacation include Key West, New Orleans, and Chicago, although she feels that “anywhere can be fun.”
