Dr. DeOrchis practices General Neurology and has completed subspecialty training in Clinical Neurophysiology and Neuromuscular Disorders. He is certified by the Board of Psychiatry and Neurology as well as the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine in EMG and neuromuscular ultrasound.
Dr. DeOrchis completed a B.S. in Neural Science at New York University in 2002, and thereafter pursued this academic interest at the Georgetown University Graduate School where he received a Masters Degree in Physiology and Biophysics.
Dr. DeOrchis obtained his Doctor of Medicine from the SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, NY, and subsequently completed a Medical Internship at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center in Manhattan.
He then completed a Neurology Residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine’s Montefiore Medical Center where he served as Chief Resident and was recognized as the hospital system’s House Officer of the Year in 2011. He remained at Albert Einstein to accomplish a Fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology and Neuromuscular Disease with special interest in Electromyography (EMG) and Neuromuscular Ultrasound.
Dr. DeOrchis has presented original research at the American Neurological Association’s annual meeting and has published in multiple peer-reviewed journals including ‘Headache’, ‘Neurology’ and ‘Muscle & Nerve’.
Currently, Dr. DeOrchis serves as Director of Neurology as well as Stroke Director at St. Francis Hospital where he assisted in the development of the first interventional stroke program for the Catholic Health System. Additionally he is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology at Hofstra Medical School and attending physician at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY where he participates in resident and medical student education.
