Originally from the Northern Virginia area, Dr. Sharma received her Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. She attended Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine for her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree and completed a three-year foot and ankle surgical residency at Jefferson- Kennedy University Hospital in Stratford, New Jersey. 

During her time in residency, she was accepted and presented three case studies of research on new and innovative rear foot and ankle reconstruction at national conferences. She also participated in a mini fellowship in Alpharetta, Georgia with Bako Pathology for podiatric dermatopathology. 

Board-certified in foot surgery, Dr. Sharma is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, which exists to offer podiatric physicians a comprehensive board qualification and certification process. 

An Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, she is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the Maryland Podiatric Medical Association.

Interested in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, diabetic limb salvage, and podiatric dermatology, Dr. Sharma is affiliated with Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center and Maple Springs Ambulatory Surgical Center.
