His acclaimed career in medicine began after he earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in 2012. He then went on to perform his residency in internal medicine at New York Medical College in 2015, and his fellowship in infectious disease at the University of Connecticut in 2017. He has also completed an additional partial fellowship in hematology & medical oncology at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University in 2018.

With an unwavering commitment to his speciality, Dr. Thomas is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

The doctor’s particular interests include molecular virology, viral oncology & tumor immunology, carcinogenesis, particularly as it relates to infections and also transplant medicine. He is also fascinated with HLH and other cytokine storms, bone marrow & HSCT, as well as CAR T-cell therapies and transplant/oncologic infections. 

To excel in his efforts, Dr. Thomas remains a member of the Infectious Disease Society of America, the International Antiviral Society, the HIV Medicine Association, the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the Radiological Society of North America. He is on the Editorial Board of Annals of Hematology & Oncology Research, Annals of Carcinogenesis, and Annals of Hematology & Oncology.
